General Description

The Facilities Assistant is responsible for maintaining the physical building and grounds associated with Anthem Church and its properties and help support the creative use of our inventory during worship services and all other church ministry activities. This involves overseeing landscaping, managing building upkeep (including cleaning and repairs), and procuring supplies for the facilities of Anthem Church.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Manage landscaping, parking lot, and all exterior building maintenance and special projects.

  2. Keep interior property clean and organized, both on Sundays and throughout the week.

  3. Oversee building repairs, coordinate small projects, and handle the procurement of supplies for the organization’s facilities. 

  4. Manage inventory of building resources and supplies.

  5. Act as the first point of contact for local contractors, including repairmen, maintenance workers, supply managers, etc. 

  6. Organize and set up auditorium and office furniture, workstations, meeting spaces, special events and activities.

  7. Partner with Central Facilities Director to maintain schedules for minor and major projects, driving them to full completion.

  8. Work with Central Facilities Director to implement an annual plan for preventative maintenance, facility care program, and facility improvement.

  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

This position requires a minimum of 1-3 years in maintenance or facility management. Voluntary certifications in this field, such as the Facilities Management Professional (FMP) or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) is a plus.
