Our mission at Anthem is to lead people to know Christ & make Him known. Another way to say that is we want to make disciples, who make disciples, who make disciples! One of our main vehicles for making & growing disciples at Anthem is what we call our Crews.
What is a Crew? A crew is a small group of people choosing to come together to grow as disciples of Christ. We offer a variety of different types of Crews (men, women, co-ed, young adult, seniors, couples), but each Crew functions the same way & follows the same format.
In order to stay on mission, maintain consistency, & enable duplication of our Crews, we ask that every Crew Leader follows these three non-negotiables.
3 NON-NEGOTIABLES FOR EVERY
ANTHEM CREW:
#1 EVERY CREW HAS AN APPRENTICE
An apprentice can be defined as to bind to or place with an employer, master craftsman, or the like, for instruction in a trade. Every Crew leader should choose a person to be training to lead a Crew.
Our Crews are designed for multiplication, meaning that the goal is to not keep your Crew together semester after semester, but rather train & equip someone to start another Crew from your Crew. The length of time a person will apprentice will vary by the person, but the goal of every apprentice is the same - to one day start & lead their own Crew.
#2 EVERY CREW FOLLOWS THE SAME FORMAT.
An Anthem Crew meeting is typically 75 - 90 minutes long. The format of our Crew is what we call the 4 W's - Welcome, Worship, Word, & What's Up.
WELCOME - connect, group mixer, greet, etc.
WORSHIP - This does not have to be actually singing (although it can be), but a place to transition conversation to God.
WORD - see non-negotiable 3. This section is typically the majority of the crew meeting.
WHAT'S UP - Individual next steps, upcoming church wide news & events, & pray.
#3 EVERY CREW FOLLOWS THE weekly NEWSLETTEr.
Every Monday by noon, Crew Leaders will receive an email with the content for the Word section of your crew meeting. This newsletter will contain questions & conversation starters from the main text from Sunday's sermon as well as the items to cover in the What's Up.
