General Description
The Music Director is a part-time position and consists of music work - music preparation, research, band rehearsals, services, service planning, and providing music at special events as required. This position reports directly to the Creative Pastor.
Essential Job Functions
1. Lead musical band in the preparation and implementation of church services and special events.
2. Lead band rehearsals, band sound checks and other call times scheduled.
3. Lead musical accompaniment for weekly services, rehearsals and special events.
4. Possess strong keyboard abilities as well as other music instruments (such as guitars)
5. Possess experience in creating and using loops, stems, and click tracks (required)
6. Possess Multi-DAW proficiency in Ableton, Logic, and Pro Tools (required)
7. Possess experience scheduling (matrix) and uploading resources to Planning Center Online (required)
8. Develop and Disciple members of the band.
9. Scout and recruit new members to the band.
10.Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
This position requires experience with playing and leading a multi-piece band. Also experience as a staff member in a ministry leadership capacity. Possession of an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Church Music, Biblical Studies or related field is required. (Extensive ministry experience, in some cases, can be substituted.) The successful individual will be a strong leader with a solid work ethic, possess the passion and gifts required to develop the musical department.
